We’ll discuss the intricacies of their roles, the (possibly surprising) differences and parallels between methodologies, where they source their inspiration and how they’ve continuously adapted to changes in trends and technology.

Alpha Box & Dice

Based in McLaren Vale, South Australia, Alpha Box & Dice are embarking on an Alphabet of Wine. Each ‘letter’ embodies an individual winemaking project, with the end goal being a complete collection of wines that celebrates the diverse styles and varieties found in South Australia’s famous wine regions, including McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley.

Since their beginning in 2008, Alpha Box & Dice have become a champion of South Australia’s alternative – particularly Mediterranean – varieties, exhibiting innovation at every step of the process by bending traditional winemaking norms. Wines from the Alphabet of Wine are now available all over the world in some of the best restaurants and cellars.

Alpha Box & Dice’s winemaking aims to find exciting couplings between vineyard and variety that show unique characteristics, illustrating how our New World environments are interpreting the best of the Old World styles. Philosophically, each letter of our Alphabet of Wine is made individually to exhibit the purity of style, with a focus on limited interference and additions. Interesting wines that have soul.

Our Headwinemaker Sam ensures that every Alpha Box & Dice wine is innovative, relevant, incredibly drinkable and most importantly – the best expression of the fruit and environment. To achieve this, Sam works with his network of growers year-round, ensuring appropriate care and consideration has gone into the vineyard so that the quality of the fruit is translated into the glass.

AADC – She Creates is an initiative of the Adelaide Advertising & Design Club (AADC). The club wanted to do and be more for the women in the industry, and as such ‘She Creates’ came to fruition in late 2019.
